In the sniper case of October 2002, after John Allen Muhammad, a New Orleans native and juvenile John Lee Malvo, a Jamaican national - the arrest affidavit refers to him as "John Doe, juvenile, were arrested, O'Reilly, but most likely someone from his staff, launched an investigation into the INS' handling of his status.
The INS, as we all know by now is one of O'Reilly's favorite whipping posts after the Clintons and Janet Reno. He came away stating that Malvo was an illegal immigrant entering the U.S. as a stowaway and therefore should not have been allowed to remain in the U.S. but returned to Jamaica immediately
Personally I have no qualms with his position so far.
At the urging by someone in the INS to the border patrol, who claim not to be responsible, the stowaway allegation was removed, and he was allowed to remain in the United States, albeit illegally.
But O'Reilly, in his zeal to bash the INS, laying blame on then-President Clinton and then-Attorney General Janet Reno for not having tightened down INS procedures, but surprisingly also blaming Bush and Ashcroft for not correcting the problem proceeded to call for the stopping of all illegal immigration, and if that does not happen, more Americans will be killed in the streets.
Is this bozo claiming that illegal immigrants are killers? If we eliminate all illegal immigrants our killing rate will drop to nothing?
