4 Reasons to keep Barack Obama on your list for consideration.
The American Premier Hate Group has issued the following blurb:
The Family Research Council operated by Tony Perkins writes:
In Washington, it's becoming increasingly difficult to know which Democrats are not running for President. Joining an already glutted field of hopefuls, Sen. Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL) announced his candidacy for the 2008 Democratic nomination yesterday. While he has positioned himself as a war critic, he has been careful not to raise the profile on his social views, except to contrast himself with the "bitter and partisan" nature of the party under rivals like Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY). However, he, like Clinton, scored a 0% on the FRC Action Vote Scorecard. Despite his brief experience on Capitol Hill, Obama has already racked up a lengthy track record, which includes votes against: the Marriage Protection Amendment, the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, and the confirmation of U.S. Supreme Court nominees Samuel Alito and John Roberts. Obama also voted for: the Embryonic Stem Cell Research Act and the Lautenberg Sex Ed Amendment (which promotes condoms and undermines abstinence-until-marriage curricula). When FRC contacted Obama to urge his support on the federal marriage amendment, he wrote a letter back stating, "I agree marriage should be defined as the union between one man and one woman, as it is under Illinois state law. However, while I oppose gay marriage, I am not convinced it is necessary to take the extraordinary step of amending the United States Constitution to prevent it." He concedes that the marriage debate is "important to many Illinoisans," yet FRC uncovered a letter Obama sent to Chicago's homosexual activists in 2004 stating, "I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It should be repealed... When Congress passed DOMA, they were not interested in strengthening family values... [but] perpetuating division." Obama should know that you cannot be against DOMA and for traditional marriage. Regardless of party--Democrat or Republican--no candidate, no matter how magnetic their personality or how well-funded their campaign, will win the support of values voters without taking a stand for the sanctity of human life and the preservation of traditional marriage.
Does this not look exactly like a candidate one should consider to be the next occupant of the White House?
Why should we make doctors responsible for law enforcement since their priority is saving lives and curing ills.
Why would someone not protect marriage? Why don't these radicals define who is threatening your heterosexual marriage, and we will help you. If your spouse is the cause, this help is not available. I have yet to hear from any married person in California whose marriage is threatened by a gay married couple in Massachusetts.
How can anyone promote the use of condoms? The same way one would also promote the carrying of a spare tire on a long road trip.
Roberts and Alioto should have never been nominated because they are political hacks.
I still don't understand why any reasonable person does not approve of using garbage, medical refuse soon to be flushed down the sewer, for research that presents hope for curing ills for which presently no cure exists.
