American people living in poverty
Neocons in politics and those who bash Democrats from the safety and comfort of their microphones and TV cameras have no problem spending hundreds of billions of dollars, first destroying a country (Iraq) then rebuilding it, to destroy it again.
But ask these neocons to do something for the American people and you hear nothing but protests, that their 'hard-earned money' should not be spent for those less fortunate, and is nothing but 'wealth redistribution.
The chart above shows what this economy really has produced. Neocons will tell you that the economy is splendid, and they are right as far as the rich are concerned. They got their tax cuts and invested in the stock market, whie the poor are poorer.
Notice in the chart that President Clinton started with approximately 45 millions living below the poverty rate (after Reagan-BushI) and the number dropped to about 31 million. Under Clinton 14 million climbed up into the middle class, just to be dropped back down under the Bush tax cuts for the rich, with 37 million Americans now living in poverty.
